wsop poker did pros start with fever chips this year?

i heard a long time ago that main event wsop pros this yr would have the same buyin but recieve less chips does anyone know if this was true. and i say forget the ppv for main event tomorrow theres no pros at the table and the prize money sucks!

   No it’s not true, actually everybody start with the same amount of chips. This year everybody start with 20K in chips.

   And they would be a “pros” at the final table: Lee Watkinson.

   Actually the prize pool for the money seems to be better this year, I would say maybe event more “fair”

   Actually what i read was that they increased the starting chip count for everyone this year so that the more skillful players could avoid being outed by the crazy lucky folks.

   There is a pro at the table, and quite a few others that have been doing the WSOP for a long time, placing in other events.

   How does 8.2 million dollars to first place suck? It may not be as much as last year, but I’m 99% sure that the field is close to 1500 people less.

   There is no truth in that at all. The truth is they gave twice the number of starting chips for all events this year, so for the main event they got 20k in chips instead of 10k. But they also took out a few blind levels to make up for the extra chips they gave you. They also have decided to give more money to the people that finish down the ladder, so they get more return for there efforts. The only time i have seen pros start an event with less chips then the other players was a full tilt invite pro/am challenge, where the stars were given two times the chips of the pros. And if anything i think the pros in the main event only should get more chips, not less, the fields are so huge it is amazing that even one pro has made the main event final table. And no real pro has won the event in some time.

   no truth to that whatsoever, everyone started main event with 20K in chips
