Do poker dealers for the WPT or WSOP events get paid more than just regular dealers in the casino?

R. W. asked:

Also I’m just curious about that question but also, when they (poker players) make it to a televised final table do the dealers get tipped as well or since they were on TV does the casino offer a generous tip for them?

    1. Yes, they have a higher level of training. In some cases I think they actually get some tips from the players. Visit pokergob.com/theunluckbox he is a poker dealer at Foxwoods and has also worked in WSOP Vegas

    2. The WSOP takes money from the prize pool and gives it to the tournament workers which include dealers, floor people, etc.

There were approximately 6,800 players at the main event last year. Excluding entry fees there was a prize pool of 68,000,000 and 3% of that was taken to give to the tournament workers or $2,040,000. Let’s say there were 680 tournament workers so each would receive $3,000 for the two week tournament.
