World Series of Poker.who has been the best player in the series the past few years?
drums626 asked:
I know there is no “answer,” only opinion; however, I’m curious as to who everyone thinks is the best player in the game of poker today based on their world series performances of the past few years. I have to say Joe Hachem and Greg Raymer based on their wins in the main event and their performances in the big event the year after their wins. Thoughts?

This guy hasn’t done very good in the Series but he has kicked butt in the World Poker Tour.
Gus Hansen
I like how he hasn’t met a hand he didn’t like.

I agree, Joe Hachem did great this year!!, But I have a few other names in mind.
And it’s a though question!!
For the past 3/4 years, heads up: PHIL IVEY, 5 bracelets. After that ALLEN CUNNINGHAM, 4 bracelets. And how many final tables, or great place finish for those 2…..
I have to put DANIEL NEGREANU too, 3 bracelets. CHRIS FERGUSON, JOHN JUANDA…..
And for the obvious: DOYLE BRUNSON, JOHNNY CHAN, PHIL HELLMUTH….10 bracelets each..!!!
And I can find more name, but you say the best so even with my multiple answers above I go with IVEY..
Take care

Joe Hachem has been very impressive lately. He recently won a major tournament at the Bellagio for 2 million dollars. Daniel Negranue came 3rd. I would have to agree with you that Joe Hachem and Greg Raymer have had impressive results at the WSOP in recent years. But, if you ask most pros, the real test is how they do in the longer term…like 10-20 years of results.
good luck.
